Guide to Unlock HTC 10 Bootloader
HTC has already launched his latest smartphone which is running on our new operating system Android 6 Marshmallow. Most of the smartphone users already bought the HTC 10 and wanted to unlock his bootloader. Everyone knows that once your device’s bootloader is unlocked then you can easily install custom recovery options like CWM or TWRP Recovery, you can root the phone & you can also install custom ROM’s. So, HTC already selling this new device HTC 10 with an unlocked bootloader. But, if you have the device with bootloader locked, then here is the complete guide which you can follow on your device to unlock your HTC 10 Bootloader. First of all, you have to create an account on HTCdev official site, it will help you to unlock bootloader and one more thing to remind you that unlocking bootloader will wipe all the data from your device.
Before we start, let me remind you – this method is available only for mentioned HTC 10. Follow this guide correctly and only on mentioned HTC 10 device otherwise whatever happens to your phone, is your responsibility. The steps given in the upcoming tutorial are correct to your knowledge, but even then, remember, whatever you do, do it at your own risk.
The procedure is easy so before following this guide do take a full backup of your device.
− Things you need to Unlock HTC 10 Bootloader
A) ADB/Fastboot files and USB drivers. Install it from here and this will create an ADB folder on your Windows PC drive (c:/adb).
B) Enable USB debugging mode on your HTC 10.
C) As I said earlier that you will need HTCdev Account. Create an account on HTC dev website. Register here for a free account. – htcdev.com
» How To Unlock HTC 10 Bootloader
Step 1. Once you created the account on HTCdev.com. Visit this link and select your phone model to get started and click the “Begin Unlock Bootloader” button.
Step 2. Now boot your device into fastboot mode. To do this Turn off your device and press Volume Down and while pressing Volume Down, press Power holding both buttons to start the device into Bootloader mode.
Step 3. Once your device in Fastboot mode. Connect your HTC 10 to PC with USB cable.
Step 4. Now open Command Prompt windows ADB folder which you created above from Step (A). To do this Hold Shift button on your keyboard & right-click on the space of the folder.
Step 5. Now you will see the CMD windows screen on your desktop. Type the following command and hit enter
fastboot oem get_identifier_token
Step 6. After that you will see a long string of text. Copy that string. When copying the token,
start with this line:
<<< Identifier Token Start >>>
And end with this line:
<<<< Identifier Token End >>>>
Step 7. Now open this link on your PC. And paste that identifier token into the box at the bottom of that HTCDev page & then click Submit.
Step 8. Then you will receive an email from HTC with a “Unlock_code.bin” file attached. Download that file to your ADB folder that you created above.
Step 9. Now type the following command in CMD and press Enter.
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
Step 10. Now you will see some process on your phone, and your device will reboot. That’s it! Your HTC 10 bootloader is now unlocked!
