There are some android users who doesn’t like stock firmware or some peoples just want root access on their android device to run third party applications to customize their device, these are the most common reason why android users flash Custom ROM’s & Root their android device. As we mentioned before that this guide on Unroot of Galaxy Note 5. So, if you’re the owner of Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and flashed custom ROM or rooted your Note 5 and wanted to Unroot device, then don’t worry this guide is very simple & it will take only few minutes to Unroot your Note 5. All you need is Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Stock Firmware & Odin flash tool and here we’re going to provide both files download links. You just have to download that files and follow below given steps.
Before we start, let me remind you – this method is available only for Samsung Galaxy Note 5 models. Follow this guide correctly and only on Note 5 otherwise whatever happens to your phone, is your responsibility. The steps given in the upcoming tutorial are correct to your knowledge, but even then, remember, whatever you do, do it at your own risk.
With the disclaimer done, lets get started –
» PRE-REQUISITES AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Do take the Full Backup of your files such as Android Apps, SMS, Contacts, Call Logs, Bookmarks. Because we’re going to wipe all data of your device. So take Full Backup of your important files.
- Samsung Drivers – First you need to install ADB and Fastboot Drivers on your windows PC and then Samsung drivers. - Enable USB Debugging mode – Go to settings -> About Device -> Tap seven times on build number -> Then go back and Open developer mode -> Check on USB Debugging.
- Battery – If your phone switched off during this process, it could brick or damage the device. So, Make sure that battery is full charged or near about 50-70% battery level.
» How to Unroot or Unbrick Samsung Galaxy Note 5
Step 1: As we mention above, that this method is available only for Note 5 models and you will need your device models Stock firmware. So first of all, Go to the ‘Settings’ → at bottom ‘About Device’ → Check out your model number & noted down anywhere.
Step 2: Once you noted down model number, Click on below given button name ‘Stock firmware’ to download files & new webpage will open, there type your device model number & download Stock firmware zip file and extract it on your desktop.
Step 3: Now you will need Odin3 flash tool to flash the stock firmware files on your phone. You can Download Odin Tool from below download button & extract the folder on your desktop.
Step 4: After that, Switch off your device & boot your device in download mode, Steps to boot in download mode – Press volume down, power & home buttons altogether at the same time to go to Download Mode and connect your PC to your device.
Step 5: Now open ODIN.exe file from the ODIN folder that you extracted in step 3, & then click on the AP button. New file explorer box will pop-up, you have to navigate to the folder where the extracted ‘Stock Firmware’ file is (in step 2) and select it. And make sure re-partition is NOT ticked under the Options tab.
Step 6: Then, hit the “Start” button at the bottom of the Odin tool to start the process. Now the flashing process will start on your device and this will take some time.
Step 7: Once process completed, you will see green PASS message on the ODIN & your device will automatically reboot. & now you can disconnect your device.
Step 8: If you device stuck on the boot loop or on Samsung Logo. Then turn off the phone & reboot in recovery mode. Steps → Hold down Volume Up + Home + Power button at the same time. Now in recovery mode select Wipe Data/Factory Reset & after that Wipe cache partition. And then reboot you device.
That’s it! Now your Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is unrooted & running on the Stock Firmware. I hope now you can easily unroot your Note 5.
