All you need is Android M image file and windows pc with ADB file installed to run some commands from your desktop. Before flashing, take the full backup of your data and this guide is only for the Nexus 5, 6 & Nexus 9, don’t try this on any of other Nexus series devices.
Guide to Install Android M on your Nexus 5, 6 and Nexus 9
Step 1. Download Android M Images from the below given link and extract the folder on your windows pc.
Download for Nexus 5
Download for Nexus 6
Download for Nexus 9
Step 2. Install the ADB drivers on your Windows PC.
Step 3. Now boot device in bootloader mode and connect it to the Windows PC.
Step 4. Once the device in bootloader mode, Go to the Android M Folder that you extracted in step 1 & then run flash-all for both Windows & Linux. (flash-all.bat if you’re on Windows PC and flash-all.sh if you’re on Linux)
Step 6. Once the flashing process is done, your device will reboot automatically.
