The Market of Lava Smartphones
Lava is an Indian invention of smart phone. It was founded in 2009 by Hari Om Rai, Sunil Bhalla, Shailendra Nath Rai and Vishal Sehgal. The demand for Lava smart phones is soaring heights and hence the phone has a great future in 2015.
Lava to rule the Indian market:
The first Lava smart phone was introduced in 2012 in India; since then the company has not looked back. It was ahead of its rival Karbonn mobile in the market share by 2 percent. The revenue of the company last year was about 2,909 crore and the company aims to double it to 6,300 crore by March. The managing director Hari Om Rai owes the success of the company to the Tier-1 and 2 towns, focus on the design of the phones and a single layered distribution network.
Introduction of Xylo smart phone:
The company adopted a multiple brand strategy and the partners of Lava launched a parallel smart phone called Xylo for a different set of consumers. The strategy worked and both phones managed to charm and fulfil various needs of different customers. Xylo holds the credit of being the first Indian handset for having its own user interface platform called HIVE. Thus the strategy of the company of having different standalone brands has marked a revolution in the Indian mobile market.
Future plans of the company:
The company has laid its plans in becoming a global company and now is ready to launch the new set of smartphones called LTE phones. The company is also aiming at selling Made in India smartphones. It has planned to spend about 500 crore over a period of three years to establish a production facility in Noida.
The Lava brand also has an agenda of going global. The company is going to spend about 300 crore on marketing in FY2015. Presently The Lava phones are exported to Russia, Nepal. Bangladesh. Thailand. Pakistan and West Asian countries.
